Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

My name is Benjerman Moore and I will be on the November 5 ballot running for the partial term trustee position on the Climax Village Council.

I have lived in the Village of Climax all my life, 35 years.

I am the proud father of my 4-year-old daughter and have matured greatly since she was born.

I want the voters to know people change. What I can say about my past is I was young and dumb. I knew better, but I didn’t care. Now I care.

Some of you may have seen flyers or handouts about me, but I encourage you not to believe everything you hear or read. I have changed and am a hard worker. I am also open to answer any questions.

I am running for a seat on the Climax Village Council because I want to see this town have a great future.

I see the Village wasting money I feel could be spent better in other areas. I would like to have a vote where my tax dollars go to.

I have no previous experience sitting on a board or a council but I am anxious to learn.

I want this town to be like it was 25, 30 years ago when I was growing up. When your neighbor would lend a hand or you would reach out to help your neighbor if needed. Treat your neighbors like family.

I’ve heard concerns about speeding in the village. We have a contract with the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department for a certain number of hours patrolling each month, but they can’t be here all of the
time. Maybe we should look into having our own local police department.

I would appreciate your vote on November 5 for a partial term trustee position on the Climax Village Council.

Thank you.
