SBM’s ‘On Balance Podcast’ explores how respect for all improves legal profession


In this month’s On Balance Podcast from the State Bar of Michigan, hosts Molly Ranns and JoAnn Hathaway speak with SBM’s Gregory Conyers to learn about how efforts to make all attorneys feel respected and included in the workplace can improve their mental health, emotional health, and professional competency.

Conyers also details the challenges that inhibit such efforts, both past and present, and offers resources and tools for increasing awareness and support for healthy workplace cultures.

MJI?to present online training on grant reallocation and contract amendments


The Michigan Judicial Institute  will present “PSC/SSSPP Grant Reallocation and Contract Amendments (Virtual) Training” hosted by Problem-Solving Courts (PSC) on Tuesday, January 14, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. via Zoom.

This module of the Grant Management Training Series will build off the previous GMTS Claims training to illustrate the connections between claim submissions, program spending patterns, and reallocation efforts to support SCAO’s goal of maintaining and/or
increasing PSC funding through improved utilization. This training will also offer detail the differences between types of contract amendments and educate participants on how to choose the appropriate amendment type for their intended result.

For registration information, contact PSC@courts.mi.gov. After registering, participants will receive a separate e-mail with the Zoom credentials 24-48 hours before the training.

Screen breaks and stretching focus of ALA meeting Jan. 13


For its January meeting, the Association of Legal Administrators, Metropolitan Detroit Chapter, will present “Yoga With Leah” on Monday, January 13, from 8 to 9 a.m. at Dickinson Wright, 2600 W. Big Beaver Rd. in Troy.
