Firm continues its Employment Law Series June 17


Maddin Hauser continues its 2025 Breakfast Bites: Employment Law Series with “Non-Competes, Duty of Loyalty, Work for Hire, Confidentiality and IP” presented Tuesday, June 17, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in-person at One Towne Square, Fifth Floor, in Southfield, and online via Zoom.

Speaking at the online program will be Nolan J. De Jong, a former Maddin Hauser summer associate who focuses his efforts on business law, including both transactional and litigation matters.  A former professional hockey player, De Jong earned his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan

Trailblazers Dinner slated for June 19 in Lathrup Village


The D. Augustus Straker Bar Association will host its 31st annual Trailblazers Dinner on Thursday, June 19, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Mint at Michigan First Conference Center, 27000 Evergreen Rd. in Lathrup Village.

In recognition of the continued struggle towards justice and equality in the legal system, the theme for this year is “Honoring the Legacy, Advancing the Promise: Legal Trailblazers in the Fight for Justice.”  The Trailblazers Awards Ceremony and Scholarship Dinner is the marquee event of the association and is used to honor outstanding individuals who have blazed the trail in the legal community and beyond.  This year’s honorees include Arnold Reed, Denise Lewis, and Tamira Chapman.

IABAM to honor Judge Julie Gatti  at annual Justinian Night June 18


The Italian American Bar Association of Michigan will host its Justinian Night on Wednesday, June 18, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Italian American Cultural Center, 43843 Romeo Plank Rd. in Clinton Township.

The during event, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Julie Gatti will be honored.

The event is open to non-members.  Cost is $85 per person and judges may attend for free.  To purchase tickets, visit www.iabam.com.
