‘Devil in the Details’
The Eastern District of Michigan Bar Association recently presented its third event in its Women’s Series with “Devil in the Details” at the offices of Warner Norcross + Judd in Detroit. Taking part in the program were (left to right) U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Stafford, Eastern District of Michigan; EDMiBar President Charissa Potts of Freedom Law PC; Margaret Raben of Gurewitz & Raben PLC; Margaret Debler of Rosati, Schultz, Joppich, & Amtsbuechler PC; U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Edmunds, Eastern District of Michigan; Assistant U.S. Attorney Susan Fairchild; and Elizabeth Jolliffe of Your Benchmark Coach. Jolliffe kicked off the program with strategies for recognizing the details that can elevate — or detract from — a practice. Attendees then broke into small, judge-led discussion groups to explore practical topics including professional demeanor, general communication, Zoom meetings and virtual courtroom presence as well as dress and appearance.
