Macomb judge among honorees
at WBA event
The Women’s Bar Association, Oakland Region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, will host its 2026 Annual Dinner on Thursday, May 7, at 5:30 p.m. at Birmingham Country Club. in Birmingham.
During the evening, the WBA will present several awards:
• Evelyn Forrest Distinguished Advocates Award—Judge Tanya Grillo of Macomb County Circuit Court
• Joan Young Judicial Excellence Award—Judge Adrienne Young of the Michigan Court of Appeals with introductory remarks by Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh
• WBA Member of the Year—Stefania Gismondi of Foster Swift
The 2026-2027 WBA Executive Board will be sworn in by Judge Grillo during the dinner.
Tickets for the dinner are $87 for WBA members, $98 for nonmembers, and $71 for law students.

SBM plans 50-year Golden Celebration
The State Bar of Michigan will host its annual 50-Year Golden Celebration luncheon on Thursday, May 7, at Saint John’s Resort in Plymouth to honor colleagues who have been members of the State Bar for 50 years.
Registration can be completed at michbar.org/50year.
Formal invitations have been sent to honorees via email. Friends, family, and colleagues are invited to join in the celebration.
Honorees will receive two complementary tickets with event registration. Up to two additional guest tickets can be purchased for $45 each.
Messages of congratulations can be included in the keepsake program, which will be distributed and mailed to honorees who do not attend.

State Bar section recognizes honorees
The Litigation Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present its 2026 Honors Reception on Thursday, May 14, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn.
This is a reception to honor this year’s award recipients for the Litigation Excellence & Judicial Excellence awards. The reception will be a strolling dinner followed by the awards program.
