Law firm a sponsor and a host of Detroit Regional Defense Reception in Washington, D.C. 

The Detroit Regional Defense Reception (formerly known as the Arsenal of Innovation Reception) will take place on Monday, October 12, in Washington, D.C. at The Army and Navy Club. The Michigan Office of Defense and Aerospace Innovation (ODAI) is the presenting sponsor and further sponsored and hosted by Butzel, Macomb County Michigan, Macomb County Chamber of Commerce and Macomb Community College.

This invitation only event brings together global leadership from private industry and high-level military officials. 

The reception coincides with the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition, which takes place from October 12-14 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. Butzel’s defense industry focused team of attorneys will attend the AUSA Expo to participate in this premier land power exposition and professional development forum.

Women’s Bar Book Club to meet Oct. 13

The Women’s Bar Association (WBA), Oakland County region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, will present  its first meeting of its Literary Ladies Book club for the 2026-2027 season online Tuesday, October 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. via Zoom.

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and kick off the autumnal and October season, the group will be reading and discussing “The Bewitching” by Silvia Moreno-Garcia.
