Series of webinars scheduled for Lawyer Well-Being Week
The American Bar Association Law Practice Division will host a series of webinars focusing on mental and emotional health for the first Lawyer Well-Being Week, May 4-8.
Five webinars, a different one each day, will be offered during the week featuring speakers who will address the challenges that lawyers face and how they can better take care of themselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
The 60-minute webinars are free to ABA members.
The weeklong initiative, which aligns with Mental Health Awareness Month in May, is a joint effort of the ABA Law Practice Division, the ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs and the National Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being.

Lawmaker apologizes for wearing questionable mask
LANSING (AP) — A state lawmaker has apologized for wearing a face mask that appeared to depict the Confederate flag during a vote at the state Capitol.
State Sen. Dale Zorn, R-Ida, said in a statement recently he was sorry for his “choice of pattern” on the face mask he wore the day before.
“I did not intend to offend anyone; however, I realize that I did, and for that I am sorry. Those who know me best know that I do not support the things this pattern represents. My actions were an error in judgment for which there are no excuses and I will learn from this episode,” he said.
Zorn previously denied that the face covering — a red mask with blue stripes and white stars — was the Confederate flag, telling WLNS-TV earlier that his wife made it and told him it was more similar to the Kentucky or Tennessee flag.
“It was not a Confederate flag,” he said. “I think even if it was a Confederate flag, you know, we should be talking about teaching our national history in schools and that’s part of our national history and it’s something we can’t just throw away because it is part of our history. And if we want to make sure that the atrocities that happened during that time doesn’t happen again, we should be teaching it. Our kids should know what that flag stands for.”
When asked by a reporter what the flag stands for, Zorn replied, “the Confederacy.”
Police: Driver leads officers on chase riding Bobcat tractor
SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Police say they are searching for a suspect accused of leading officers on a slow-speed chase in Santa Fe while riding a Bobcat tractor.
KRQE-TV reports Santa Fe police pursued the alleged Bobcat bandit during an evening five-mile-an-hour quest through town earlier this month.
Police say the driver repeatedly ignored commands to stop the stolen tractor and eventually plowed his way through barbed wire.
Authorities say the driver fled into a field and disappeared.
No arrests were made. Police say the case is still under investigation.
