State regulators to host seven utility forums
LANSING (AP) -- State regulators plan to hold seven forums on energy rates and telephone service this fall.
The first will take place in Ontonagon on Sept. 27 and the last in Grand Haven on Nov. 3. Other sites include Gladstone, Grayling, Lansing, Ypsilanti and Hamtramck.
The forums are designed to give consumers the latest information on electric and natural gas rates for the winter and the status of local and long-distance telephone service.
One of the three Michigan Public Service commissioners will be available at each forum and will listen to questions and comments regarding utility service.
Local utility service providers and groups that can assist consumers in getting help with utility bills also are expected to attend.
