Fist annual 'Laddys' to be presented by LAD
Legal Aid and Defender Association Inc. (LAD) will conduct it first annual Pro Bono Awards Ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 3, at the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit.
The "Laddys" will be presented to attorneys, law firms, and others for their exceptional volunteer service through the Private Attorney Involvement Program. Laddys will also be presented to the most recent "Warrior of Justice" and "Pioneer of Justice" for outstanding contributions to the delivery of legal services to the poor.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with an hors d'oeuvres and cocktail reception featuring the music of the Pamela Wise Trio followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m.
Individual tickets are $50, a table of eight is $400, and a tax deductible "Original Screenplay" sponsorship of $500 includes eight tickets, name listed in the event program and displayed at table.
