Man gets 3 months for threatening mixed couple

DETROIT (AP) -- A 41-year-old Detroit man has received a three-month sentence after pleading guilty to accusations of mailing a noose and photos of lynchings to a black man and his white wife. Glenn E. Morgan Jr. earlier pleaded guilty to making a mailed threat. U.S. District Judge Robert Cleland also placed Morgan on two years' supervised released, ordered him to perform 200 hours of community service and fined him $2,000. The government says Morgan admitted that in November 2008, he mailed a noose and photos of black men being lynched and the slain body of Nicole Brown Simpson to the couple. The government says the envelope also contained messages saying black men who marry white women should be lynched and white women who marry black men would die like Simpson.
