Free seminar presented by Probate Court, Oct. 12
On Friday, Oct. 12, the Oakland County Probate Court will conduct a free seminar titled "Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court" at the Royal Oak Senior Center from 1 to 3 p.m. This program is designed to enlighten and educate senior citizens and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process. The Royal Oak Senior Center is located at 3500 Marais in Royal Oak.
The seminar will provide attendees with information on wills, trusts, Powers of Attorney, how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships and how "avoiding probate" could cause more harm than good.
Panelists will include Jill Koney Daly, probate register for the Oakland County Probate Court, and attorney Paula Talarico from Talarico & Associates in Troy. Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.
To register for this free seminar, contact the Royal Oak Senior Center at 248-246-3900. The "Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court" seminar, developed by the Citizens Alliance for the Circuit and Probate Courts, has reached thousands of citizens over the past 20 years.
