Commissioner elected to the Association of Counties' Board

Oakland County Commissioner Shelley Goodman Taub was elected to the Michigan Association of Counties Board at the annual MAC legislative conference in Lansing on Sept. 26. Taub, a Bloomfield Township Republican, was named board member for Region 5. The region she represents includes the counties of Oakland, Wayne, Macomb, Monroe, and Washtenaw. She will be one of 15 directors from across Michigan to serve as a part of the MAC Board. The Michigan Association of Counties (MAC) is a prominent organization that was formed in 1898 to advocate for the interests of Michigan's county governments. For more than 100 years, MAC has evolved into a highly-respected organization that brings together 81 counties to speak with one voice. Taub is serving her second-consecutive-term as an Oakland County Commissioner and is the vice chair of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners' Finance Committee. She is a member of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Public Service Committee and serves in the following capacities as the chair of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Republican Caucus; chair of the Community Development Commission; chair of the Michigan Association of Counties Health and Human Services Committee; chair of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Audit Committee; chair of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Prescription Drug Committee and is the chair of the Oakland County Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) for the Community & Home Improvement Division. She is also a member of the Oakland County Substance Abuse Advisory Council As a member of the MAC Board of Directors, Taub recently met with Governor Rick Snyder to discuss the following legislative issues that are of major concern to Michigan counties: Revenue Sharing, Unfunded Mandates, Court Reform, and the new Personal Property Tax. I look forward to working with both our regional partners and those counties throughout the state on key issues that affect all Michiganders," stated Taub.
