Attorneys to speak at Cooley's MLK Equal Access to Justice Day
Cooley Law School will conduct its MLK Equal Access to Justice Day on Monday, Jan. 21, in Room 145 of its Auburn Hills campus at 2630 Featherstone Rd.
The day will begin with breakfast and a prayer service from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by a panel of professionals speaking about civil rights challenges facing individuals in their communities.
Panelists will include:
* Dewnya Bazzi, attorney at Romanzi Atnip PC and president of the Michigan Muslim Bar Association.
* Tim Cordes, attorney at Nesi and Associates PC and president of the Stonewall Bar Association of Michigan.
* Marla A. Linderman, attorney at Linderman Law PC and president-elect of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan.
* Rona M. Lum, corporate immigration attorney at Law Offices of Rona M. Lum PC.
*David S. Maquera, senior attorney at DTE Energy and president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan.
* Rasul Raheem, senior vice president and assistant general counsel at Bank of America and president-elect of the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association.
After the panel discussion ends at 1 p.m., there will be community service opportunities taking place in Detroit and Pontiac.
