Secretary of State offers video at branch offices
LANSING (AP) -- Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson says her department is introducing a video network at motor vehicle branch offices.
Johnson says that the video system involves no cost to taxpayers and includes advertising along with educational content, news, sports and weather.
Johnson says she has a three-year agreement with Motor Vehicle Network to provide the content on large, high-definition monitors in branch offices. She says more than half the offices now have them, and more will get them soon.
The Norwalk, Conn.-based Motor Vehicle Network, offers programming without audio. It also can post real-time Amber Alerts and other emergency announcements.
