Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announces library partnership
LANSING (AP) -- The Michigan Department of State is partnering with library officials on a new venture designed to get information to voters and motorists across the state.
The joint effort is called ExpressSOS CONNECT-Libraries and was recently announced.
Libraries across Michigan will become points to access online secretary of state services.
At ExpressSOS.com, online users can renew their tabs, change their address, order copies of vehicle registration records and sign up to be an organ donor.
Secretary of State Ruth Johnson says she's hoping that joining forces with libraries that provide free Internet access will help her get the word out to state residents about services her department offers.
