Attorneys featured during joint ventures seminar
The saying 'two heads are better than one' often applies to bidding on contracts. However, when two companies team together they need to make clear early each other's roles and responsibilities.
Companies can get the latest information on Joint Ventures and Teaming Agreements during a program from 7:30 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Macomb-OU INCubator located in the Velocity Collaboration Center at 6633 18 Mile Road in Sterling Heights.
Featured presenters include Butzel Long attorneys James C. Bruno, Eric J. Flessland, Beth S. Gotthelf, and Benjamin Fan Wu. They will address the following:
* Teaming and joint venture agreements generally, special considerations for government contracts and then one method to 'get an edge' on the competition by participating in a federal mentor-protégé program.
* How small businesses can learn new skills and improve its competitive standing for government contracts.
* Why mentors may benefit by gaining socioeconomic and small business credit with procuring agencies and also obtaining the ability to compete, together with protégés, as a joint venture on small business and 8(a) set-aside contracts.
The registration fee is $25 per person and includes a continental breakfast. To register, visit www.butzel.com/events/. For questions, contact Leslie Dunbar at dunbar@butzel.com.
