Oakland Mediation Center hosts 'Fabulous Friday'
The Oakland Mediation Center (OMC) annual "Fabulous Friday--Finds and Fun...on Wheels" event is returning to Leon and Lulu from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8.
Guests will have the opportunity to shop for a good cause as tickets and a percentage of purchases will benefit programs that raise awareness about bullying and youth violence. They will enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer and soft drinks delivered by servers on roller skates as they mix, mingle and shop the impressive store.
All proceeds from ticket sales and 10 percent of purchases will be used to deliver programs proven to stop bullying and youth violence.
Leon and Lulu is an eclectic mix of upscale furniture, unforgettable gifts and accessories in an environment unlike any other. Located in the historic Ambassador Roller Rink, they offer 15,000 square feet of fabulous shopping.
"So often we hear about people who have been bullied and nothing about solutions. OMC's 'Fabulous Friday' provides the opportunity to enjoy a fun Friday evening and support programs for our schools proven to stop bullying!" says OMC Executive Director Bonnie Hanes.
Since 1989, OMC has served the community empowering over 91,000 youth to peacefully resolve conflict themselves through mediation and education programs. Due to cutbacks at the federal and state level, schools no longer have funding to provide these vital programs. Funds raised at "Fabulous Friday" will subsidize the gap and provide students with life skills they would not otherwise possess. Oakland Mediation Center's Youth Programs stop the circle of violence.
Leon and Lulu is located at 96 W. 14 Mile Road in Clawson. Ticket prices are $20 purchased in advance and $25 at the door. For additional information or to purchase tickets, visit www.mediation-omc.org.
