Attorney to speak on updating employee handbooks for 2014
Employment attorney James Reid IV, of Southfield-based law firm Maddin, Hauser, Wartell, Roth, & Heller PC, will serve as the keynote speaker at seminars focusing on the many changes required for 2014 employee handbooks.
First, Reid will join Janelle Crudo, benefits risk advisor at CIA Financial Group, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, to discuss how to update human resource practices for 2014 and beyond. The second seminar, hosted by Ultimate Software, is scheduled from 8 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Skyline Club, 2000 Town Center #2800 in Southfield. Breakfast will be provided.
Attendees will learn what revisions employers need to make to their employee handbook, including: The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act updates; social media, iPad communications and owner of Linked-In account policies; and top written guidelines that can help reduce liability.
