The Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Michigan, in collaboration with the Labor & Employment Law Section, Litigation Section, Probate & Estate Planning Section, Real Property Law Section, and Young Lawyers Section, will host two seminars in June called “Representing Clients in Mediation: The Art of Effective Mediation Advocacy.” The seminar will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, at the Doubletree Hilton, located in Novi.
The seminar will include the following sessions: “How Mediation Advocacy is Different from Traditional Zealous Advocacy: How to Make the Most of a Unique Process,” “Preparing Lawyers and Clients for Mediation: What it Takes to Get Truly Ready,” and “Mediation Advocacy at the Table: How to Achieve the Best Results Possible for Your Client.”
Featured at the seminar will be mediators and arbitrators Earlene R. Bagett-Hayes, Sheldon J. Stark, and Paul Monicatti, along with advocates Edward H. Pappas, Kathryn J. Humphrey, and Michael S. Leib.
Printed copies of materials will be available onsite the day of both events and digitally in the library after the event. The seminar costs $95 for members of the co-sponsoring sections, $145 for non-section members, and $45 for law students.
