The Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC) will conduct its 2021 Winter Meeting titled “Why Should I Hire you? How Building a Personal Brand Drives Business Development” on Friday, November 5, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Detroit Novi, 21111 Haggerty Road in Novi.

• 10:30 to 11 a.m.—Employment Law Update, with Nick Huguelet of Nemeth Law PC
• 11 a.m. to noon—The Art and Value of Persuasion in ADR: Trials and Tribulations for Litigators, Mediators, and Judiciary, with Stephen Foucrier of Willingham Cotè, Patricia Nemeth of Nemeth Law PC, Ingham County Circuit Court Judge James S. Jamo, Irene Hathaway of Bruce Hathaway PLLC, and moderator Robert Riley of Riley & Hurley PC
• Noon to 1 p.m.—Lunch/Luncheon Presentation - MDTC/MAJ Respected Advocate Award, recognizing MAJ recipient Michelle Crockett of Miller, Canfield, Paddock, & Stone PLC; and MDTC recipient Jabran G. Yasso of Sommers Schwartz PC
• 1 to 2 p.m.—Ethical Issues in the Business of Law, with Michael Goetz of the Michigan Attorney Grievance Administration
• 2:15 to 3:30 p.m.—The Business Side of the Law: Building Success Beyond the Courtroom, with Richard Joppich of The Kitch Firm; Michael Sullivan of Collins, Einhorn, Farrell PC; Fred Fresard with Klein, Thomas, & Lee LLC; and moderator Randy Juip of Foley, Baron, Metzger, & Juip PLLC
Cost for the Winter Meeting is $235 for MDTC member, $335 for non-members, $75 for lunch-only, and a new member special of $285 which includes the cost of meeting and one year of membership.
