To make offering employee benefits and administrative needs easier and more affordable, the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) on Thursday launched Harmony, its consolidated services for insurance, compliance and HR solutions.
Harmony encompasses all the insurance, compliance and human resources that small businesses need to be successful. Under the plan, SBAM staff, working in conjunction with independent insurance agents across Michigan, will handle many administrative and customer service matters for SBAM-sponsored insurance plans, reducing hassle for small businesses while also saving members and agents time and money.
“Small business owners should be able to focus on running their business, not dealing with tedious administrative matters and that’s why we have launched Harmony,” said SBAM President and CEO Brian Calley. “Running a small business is a lot of work and SBAM is proud to be increasing our offerings to take some of the work off our members’ plates.”
The Harmony launch brings SBAM’s customer service efforts in-house, with a new dedicated team specializing in members’ group health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and enrollment needs. The team is led by SBAM’s new Vice President of Small Business Services Michelle Beebe, who started in November.
Harmony includes affordable and flexible plans that will attract employees to small businesses. It also includes workers’ compensation insurance, human resources assistance and other compliance services to streamline tasks and keep members in line with state and federal requirements.
SBAM’s insurance services team will handle all SBAM-sponsored Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Care Network and Dearborn Life Insurance Company, COBRA, and Section 125 consolidated billing and compliance services from its Lansing office.
