Oakland Mediation Center (OMC), Oakland County's mediation and conflict resolution training facility, invites legal professionals to participate in its Virtual 8-Hour Advanced Mediation Trainings in 2023. These trainings are virtual and open to legal professionals and mediators across the state.
Both novice and experienced mediators recognize that every case brings new challenges. Every dispute is unique and should cause the mediator to stretch their mind and dig deep into their toolbox of skills. OMC offers advanced training to individuals who wish to enhance their mediator skill set and who need to meet the circuit court roster requirements of advanced mediation training.
"OMC has been dedicated to providing quality mediation training for over 32 years," said Charity Burke, OMC Executive Director. "Our training is designed to give participants, from all backgrounds, skills they can use immediately to serve and make a lasting impact on our community."
The 8-Hour training dates this year include:
• Spring Date: Monday, April 24 & 25, from 1 to 5 p.m.
• Summer Dates: Thursday, July 20 & 21, from 1 to 5 p.m.
• Fall Dates: Thursday, November 2 & 3, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Each day will be virtual on the Zoom platform. The cost of training is $295. Participants will build on the elements of communication, problem-solving, and facilitation skills that are used in both group mediations and meetings. Upon completion of training participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
