The Jewish Bar Association of Michigan conducted its 2023 JBAM Awards Ceremony on Monday, May 22, at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. During the event, the Avern Cohn Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Oakland County 47th District Court Judge Marla Parker (second from left). The Ruth Bader Ginsberg Champion of Justice Award was presented posthumously to the late Oakland County 44th District Court Judge Jamie L. Wittenberg who passed away last November at the age of 48 after a 3-1/2-year battle with brain cancer. Members of Wittenberg’s family proudly accepted the award including daughter Maya (third from left), wife Staci (third from right), and daughters Brooke (second from right) and Talia (far right). Dr. Bradley Goldberg (far left) happily congratulated both Parker and the Wittenberg family at the ceremony. Also during the ceremony, JBAM presented its Volunteer of the Year Award to JBAM Past-president Ellie Mosko and the Charles J. Cohen, Esquire Law Student Scholarship to Loren Shevitz.
