After waiving arraignment, the matter proceeded to preliminary examination before Judge Douglas Shepherd, along with Ludy’s other pending case in which she faces an additional nine-count felony complaint for stealing from another vulnerable adult for whom she also served as guardian and conservator. Those additional charges include:
• One count of Conducting a Criminal Enterprise, punishable by 20 years and/or $100,000, pursuant to MCL 750.159(i)(1).
• Two counts of Embezzlement $1,000 to $20,000, pursuant to MCL 750.174(4)(a), 5-year felonies.
