The State Appellate Defender Office and the Criminal Defense Resource Center along with West Michigan Regional Investigators Association will present the webinar “Mastering Record Collection: FOIA and Other Devices” on Thursday, November 2, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.
In this training, attendees will learn about obtaining government and non-government records:

• Fighting redactions and denials.
• Disputing FOIA fees.
• Getting records from other institutions—forms and tactics.
Speaking at the webinar will be Julianne Cuneo and Michelle Haidl.
Cuneo is the chief investigator at SADO. She was the owner/operator of Sunshine Investigations for 30 years, specializing in death penalty and other state and federal capital cases, as well as plaintiffs’ personal injury work.
Haidl is the managing criminal investigator at the Calhoun County Public Defender Office. She joined CCPDO four years ago after 18 years in a variety of MDOC positions, including probation/parole agent in Battle Creek and institutional trainer.
