“Firearms Law: Examining the Current Landscape and What’s on the Horizon Sponsored by the ABA Section of State and Local Government Law” will take place Wednesday, November 8, beginning at 12:30 p.m. via Zoom.
The discussion will focus on the Second Amendment, the Supreme Court’s 2022 New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc., et al v. Bruen, Superintendent of New York State Police, et al Inc., decision, practical guidance for litigators and policymakers and a preview of the Supreme Court’s next major gun-related case, United States v. Rahimi.
The program will also focus on what state and local officials are doing in the areas of policymaking, law enforcement and litigation to help lower the incidence of gun violence and mass shootings.
Joseph Blocher and Darrell Miller, co-directors at the Duke Center for Firearms Law, will lead the discussion.
