The Youth Defense Project of the State Appellate Defender Office and Michigan Appellate Assigned Counsel System will conduct the webinar “Juvenile Justice Reform: What to Expect” featuring Josh Pease on Thursday, December 21, beginning at noon via Zoom.
With the recent passage of several juvenile justice reform bills, there are questions about how this will impact youth defense and the children we represent. During the webinar, Josh Pease will go over the bills and what to expect going forward.
Pease started as the SADO Youth Defense Project director in May 2022. Prior to joining SADO, he spent nearly a decade in private practice with a focus on children’s law and representing children. He was active in workgroups for the Michigan Task Force of Juvenile Justice Reform, often as the only attorney in the conversation. Pease currently serves as the chair-elect for the Children’s Law Section and recording secretary for the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan while serving as several committees between the two sections.
