Section conducts ‘Fiduciary Income Taxation’ webinar

The Taxation Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present the webinar “Fiduciary Income Taxation with the TCJA Sunset on the Horizon” Wednesday, February 7, from noon to 1:15 p.m. via Zoom.

• Key income tax classifications of trusts
• Allocations between trusts and beneficiaries
• IRC Section 645 elections
• Net investment income tax for trusts and trust beneficiaries
• Material participation for fiduciaries
• Important considerations for trusts holding S corporation stock
• Trust distributions made to charitable organizations
• Sunsetting provisions of the TCJA
• Rev. Rul. 2023-2 and basis planning
• Higher interest rate environment planning
• Select international tax considerations
