Helping survivors
The Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, in cooperation with the U.S. District Court and the Detroit Bar Association presented “Navigating Intimate Partner Violence in Civil Cases—A Guide for Pro Bono Attorneys” on Tuesday, March 26, at the Theodore Levin U.S. District Courthouse in Detroit. During this workshop, experts from First Step and Lakeshore Legal Aid equiped attorneys interested in pro bono work with essential knowledge and strategies to effectively support domestic violence survivors in family and civil court proceedings. Speaking at the program were (left to right) Audriana Buchanan-Cronk of First Step and Stephanie Saad of Lakeshore Legal Aid.
