‘Mental Health in the Workplace’ focus of webinar

The Michigan Judicial Institute and Friend of the Court Bureau will present a webinar on “Mental Health in the Workplace” Thursday, April 25, from 9 to 10 a.m.

Over the past few years, the importance of prioritizing employee mental health has been highlighted. It is well known that taking care of ourselves and teams is critical to personal wellness and growth, and key to improving working relationships with the families the court serves. But what does “taking care of ourselves” look like? What issues are teams facing?

How do those issues manifest? What can people do about it while in the workplace? And what techniques can staff members use to help their own individual mental health?

The online training will discuss the most frequent workplace issues that lead to mental health crises and how best to detect – and prevent – staff burnout.  Speaking at the webinar will be:

• Jessica K. Camp, co-founder and epistemological navigator, Healing Centered Restorative Engagement LLC

• Carmen Cochran, owner and executive director of Emboldened Psychological Services PLLC

• Sean Egan, deputy director – labor, Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity

This webinar in intended for Friend of the Court Staff and Child Support Professionals.  To register, visit https://mjieducation.mi.gov and click on “events.”
