Bob Berger will be Memorial Day speaker

Former Climax-Scotts American Legion Post #465 Commander Bob Berger will be the featured speaker at two Memorial Day ceremonies in the Village of Climax.

Berger will speak at a Memorial Day wreath laying ceremony following the parade in the Village Park and then later at 1 p.m. at a brief ceremony at Prairie Home Cemetery, where taps will be played following the ceremony.

Berger is the current Chaplain for the C-S American Legion and Legion Riders. Some other leadership positions Berger has held for the American Legion include Michigan Legion 3rd District Commander and State of Michigan Vice Commander.

For the 40 & 8, Berger has served as the Calhoun County Voiture 181, Commander and currently serves as Chaplain and he has served as Michigan 40 & 8 Chaplain.

The 7k Run To Climax will start at 8 a.m., with registration taking place at the Climax United Methodist Church Education Building. A separate 1-mile Fun Run will also be taking place at the same time.

The Memorial Day parade, sponsored by the C-S American Legion Post #465, will begin at 10 a.m.

Other activities will be taking place throughout the day from 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Some features include a huge craft and vendor show, a car show and food vendors.
