Life is short. We all have two things that are definite: Birth and Death. Everyone who exists on this planet was born. And everyone will die. Death is that event that we like to postpone and not thinks about until we are really old. I am really old so I often have to say goodbye to friends and relatives or realize that I will be going to a funeral soon of a friend or relative. At these moments, it becomes insightful for me to think about the shortness of life on this earth. This shortness of life can be denied or minimized. It can easily be ignored. When I ignore that I had a beginning,
BIRTH and will have an end, DEATH, I miss so much about life. I forget that death is simply a new beginning of opening a door to a new life which never ends. I forget to be grateful that I was born to live forever and so is everyone else.
There is great consolation in becoming aware that this beginning of life and ending of life is very transitory and is really a journey to an amazing peace and happiness that will never end. So, what do I do now as I realize that I am still existing on this planet earth.
I think it is of supreme importance to focus on what existence really means. The journey on this earth is really a journey into an eternal life of joy and happiness. But to realize this, I must learn to be very quiet and reflective and to be very loving and kind. Life is meant to be an experience of Love which is what everyone desires and seeks, sometimes appropriately, sometimes in inappropriately. To experience the joy of Love, I must be loving and kind toward everyone. I must also learn how to embrace quiet time in each day so that I begin to experience God. Everyone seeks God whether a person believes in God or now. This seeking of God is something present in the mind and heart of everyone on this planet even though we often minimize this or ignore this fundamental experience and principle of life.
That is the most important experience we need to have between our beginning of life on this earth and the end of life on this planet? It is to pay close attention to our unconscious desire for God. To do this it becomes so important to listen closely to the silence in or lives and realize that their God is present.
It is important to be loving and kind to everyone and to never invest in negativity because in love and kindness we become receptive to God’s Love and Kindness. Between the beginning and end of our lives, it becomes so important to have an experience of God which will stay with us. I am always inspired by observing the people in my apartment complex lovingly take their dogs outside for a walk or to relieve themselves. The love people have their pets reminds me so often of the Love God has for each person. But to realize this I must pay attention with a loving heart and mind to what is happening around me.
There is so much goodness and love present everywhere. I must look for it humbly and with an attitude of love and kindness. When I become negative and critical and resentful I really block myself from a deeper experience of life and a deeper experience of God.
Between the beginning and end of my life, there is such love and simplicity. I can increase my awareness of this by being more kind and loving at each moment of any interaction with another person. I can have this positive experience of God by quietly listening to what is going on in my heart in quiet times.
Life is always an experience of God whether I am alone or with someone. But between the BEGINNING AND THE END OF MY LIFE on this planet, I must pay attention to this present moment. I then become more aware of the depth and goodness of life and that I will experience God and live forever in joy even when Life on this planet ends. The end starts an eternal joy and experience that will last forever.
