Cross examination techniques presented online

The State Appellate Defender Office and the Criminal Defense Resource Center will present a webinar on “Cross Examination: Techniques and Strategies” Tuesday, March 18, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.

In this training, attendees will learn different cross examination techniques, when to use them, and how to form cross-examination questions. This training will give attendees the tools they need for cross examination during preliminary examinations, evidentiary hearings, and trial.  Lauren Askew will be the featured speaker for the webinar.

Askew is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.  She has been practicing law since 2015.  Currently, Askew is an assistant public defender at the Calhoun County Public Defender’s Office where she handles mostly felony and misdemeanor cases.  Askew has been teaching trial skills since 2020 with the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan (CDAM) and Blanchard Law. She is a CDAM board member.
