In January 2025, Larry Devere Middleton was found guilty on all charges by a Macomb County jury for sexually assaulting a young girl after a four-day jury trial by Macomb County Assistant Prosecutor Mark Laws. Today Middleton was sentenced.
In 2023, Larry Devere Middleton sexually assaulted a young girl on multiple occasions. He was charged and found guilty of two counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a person under 13 years old, up-to-life felonies, Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a person under 13 years old, a 15-year felony, Criminal Sexual Conduct - Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Penetration, a ten-year felony, and Indecent Exposure, a one-year misdemeanor.
Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Sabaugh sentenced Middleton to 25-75 years for the two counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a person under 13 Years old. He was also sentenced to concurrent prison time on the lesser charges. Middleton will be required to register for life under the Sex Offender Registration Act and if ever released from prison he will be electronically monitored for life.
“This sentence reflects the severity of these crimes and ensures that this man will no longer be able to harm innocent children. My office remains dedicated to seeking justice for victims and holding offenders accountable. I commend the bravery of the young survivor and the dedication of our prosecutors and law enforcement in securing this conviction,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
