The State Appellate Defender Office and the Criminal Defense Resource Center will present a webinar on “Raising Race in Search and Seizure Litigation (Part I)” Tuesday, May 20, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom. Speaking at the training will be Ashley Burrell and Kacey Mordecai from the NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund. This is a two-part series and Part II will be on September 16.

• Analyze and apply relevant case law to argue the relevance of race when litigating unlawful searches and seizures.
• Obtain and use information, including social science research, to litigate issues related to race and racial discrimination.
