State officials joined Oakland County Michigan Works! in recognizing Christopher Bradbury, an engineering apprentice at Humanetics in Farmington Hills, for his commitment to career growth and technical excellence, with a 2025 Michigan Works! Impact Award.

Bradbury is part of Humanetics’ forward-thinking apprenticeship program, which provides hands-on learning, mentorship, and technical training in the high-demand field of advanced manufacturing. With support from Oakland County Michigan Works! and the Humanetics team, Bradbury is building the foundation for a long-term career in engineering.

“It’s been an honor and privilege working with Humanetics!” said Dawn Davis of Oakland County Michigan Works!. “I have found leadership within Humanetics’ HR department to be forward thinking, committed to the community, and ready to prepare, empower, and engage the next generation of workers. Overall, Humanetics has been a stellar employer partner of Oakland County Michigan Works! and the Southfield team, and I am excited by their dedication to workforce development.”

Bradbury’s success reflects the power of apprenticeship programs to provide real-world experience while helping Michigan’s employers close critical talent gaps in STEM and technical roles.

“Christopher’s path shows the value of hands-on training and the importance of industry partnerships,” said Senator Mary Cavanagh (D-Redford Twp.). “He’s gaining the skills to lead in a vital sector of our economy.”

Ryan Hundt, CEO of the Michigan Works! Association, highlighted the importance of apprenticeship pathways:

“Apprenticeships are a powerful tool for career development—and Christopher’s story proves it. He’s earning while he learns, and that’s a model that benefits both individuals and Michigan’s economy.”

The Michigan Works! Impact Awards bring lawmakers together with talent development leaders to recognize individuals from across the state who have overcome adversity or helped others achieve career success through involvement with the Michigan Works! network.
