In a gala celebration, the University Detroit Mercy School of Law Clinic program marked its 60th anniversary during a special June 12 event at the Riverfront campus of the law school. Among the keynote speakers at the event were a trio of law school alums (left to right) former DIA Board Chairman Eugene Gargaro Jr., former state Supreme Court Justice Maura Corrigan, and former Judge Michael Talbot of the Michigan Court of Appeals.

Detroit Mercy Law Dean Nicholas Schroeck (left) served as the master of ceremonies at the event, which featured a tribute delivered by law school alum Ven Johnson, who recognized the pivotal role that the Asher Family made in the restoration of the George J. Asher Law Clinic Center on Larned Street in Detroit.
