The Michigan Judicial Institute will present “All Rise Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Best Practices: Drug Testing and Wellness Considerations in Juvenile Drug Treatment Courts Webinar” hosted by Problem-Solving Courts (PSC) on Friday, July 18, noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.
This module introduces participants to the importance of drug testing protocols in Juvenile Drug Treatment Courts. Participants will review the most recent science and common practices for drug testing collection procedures, tamper prevention, drug use trends, and responses to positive test results.
After this session, participants will be able to:
• Describe various testing techniques, and the importance of using research and science to inform practice and policy.
• Discuss necessary policy development or program changes to create an effective testing protocol.
• Develop a range of responses to failure to test, tampering and positive tests that focus on treatment and criminogenic needs.
