Trailblazers ceremony
The D. Augustus Straker Bar Association hosted its 31st annual Trailblazers Award and Scholarship Ceremony on Thursday, June 19, at The Mint at Michigan First Conference Center in Lathrup Village. Happy to welcome attendees to the event were Straker board members (left to right) Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Adrienne Scruggs, Tanisha Davis of TMD Law Group, Straker President Elect Dandridge Floyd of Oakland Schools, Straker President Mikai Green of Greenlaw Virtual Intellectual Property PC, and Michael Everett Hall of Michael Everett Hall Law PLLC. In recognition of the continued struggle towards justice and equality in the legal system, the theme for this year was “Honoring the Legacy, Advancing the Promise: Legal Trailblazers in the Fight for Justice.” This year’s honorees included Arnold Reed, Denise Lewis, and Tamira Chapman.
