‘Investigative Photography Techniques’ explored online

The State Appellate Defender Office’s Criminal Defense Resource Center along with the West Michigan Regional Investigator Association will continue their 2025 Trainings for Defense Investigators with the webinar on “Investigative Photography Techniques” Thursday, August 7, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.

In this training, attendees will learn how to:

• Identify the camera equipment commonly used in investigative photography

• Use proper techniques to document crime scenes through photography

• Apply a systematic approach to photographing crime scenes and subjects

• Capture clear, detailed photographs of injuries for evidentiary purposes

• Use specialized photography methods in challenging conditions such as low light or inclement weather.

Speaking at the webinar will be Jessica Ramirez, a former forensic scientist with specialty areas in latent prints and firearms/toolmark identification. She has nearly 20 years of experience processing and photographing crime scenes.
