Life is very short. The older I become, the more I realize this. Often when I visit my friends I become so aware that at any moment I might be saying “Goodbye” to them at their funerals or they might be saying “Goodbye” to me at my funeral. When I attend Church at 5 p.m. Mass I look around and say to myself “there are a lot of old people at this Mass.” Then I realize that I am one of those old people.
The time will come for all of us to die and go on to the next life in heaven. It is the journey we are all on no matter what our age might be. It can be so easy to minimize this. 160,000 thousand people died each day in the world. This means that 60 million people in the world die each year. This is the journey we will all be taking. Death will happen to each of us. But what do we do about this common journey right now.
As the years so quickly seem to roll on, I become more pleasantly aware and more pleasantly accepting that I will journey into a heaven of joy, love and peace which will never end. It can be easy to minimize this. Each present moment is always meant to be a journey into God no matter what might be happening in my life.
Life is meant to be a simple and uncomplicated journey into God and into God’s amazing and soul transforming LOVE. This journey on this earth could end at any moment or years from now. But is is journey that will always be embracing me with God’s Love and Care, God’s comfort and Joy. The secret of a joyful life is to embrace this journey with open heart, open mind, open heart and open soul. This means to travel slowly and gently in each present moment.
Each moment of life is so precious and is really so joyful if I take time to focus on the amazing LOVE that God has for every person. Yes, EVERY ONE IN LIFE.
This amazing awareness is so helpful, powerful and joyful. Wherever there is love and beauty, there is God. And Love and Beauty is everywhere. And the LOVE OF GOD IS EVERYWHERE. I am totally convinced that there is never a condemning or unloving God. There is only a LOVING, CARING, COMFORTING AND HELPFUL GOD. This is why I spend the first hour of every day listening to God and focusing on God’s Love. It so amazing and soul refreshing to do this. As I write this last sentence, I am filled with joy and gratitude and I realize more that GOD LOVES ME AND WILL ALWAYS LOVE ME.
