Medication Assisted Treatment talk continues

The Michigan Judicial Institute will present “Re-Examining Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) in the Problem-Solving Court Context Part 2” hosted by Problem-Solving Courts (PSC) Tuesday, October 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. via Zoom.

In this second session of the Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) Training Initiative, Dr. Shuchin Shukla, addiction medicine physician and expert consultant, will discuss how stigma affects both treatment access and treatment interest.  He will review interventions that support the impact of MAT and other interventions that worsen outcomes.

Lastly, Shukla will discuss challenges related to MAT program implementation and potential solutions.  He will close the session by addressing new and previously submitted questions from the audience, including a discussion of kratom and other novel psychoactive substances.
