The Eastern District of Michigan Bar Association will host the 2025 Barbara Rom/Edward Rakow Awards/Court Historical Society Luncheon beginning at noon on Wednesday, November 12, at the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit, 1114 Washington Boulevard in Detroit.
The event features the presentation of the annual Barbara J. Rom Award for Excellence in Bankruptcy Practice, presentation of the Edward H. Rakow Awards, and a keynote address sponsored by the Court’s Historical Society. This year’s award winner is Jonathan Green from Miller Canfield.
The luncheon keynote speaker will be Prof. Michelle Adams of the University of Michigan Law School. Adams is the 2025 recipient of the Cohn Award for her book “The Containment,” which is about Bradley v. Milliken—a case that federal Judge Avern Cohn presided over in its later stages. The book was published earlier this year.
