Social enterprises serve as pivotal agents of change, addressing pressing social challenges while simultaneously fostering job creation, spurring economic advancement, and fortifying community resilience. They are revenue-generating businesses with a mission, using their profits to address societal need. These enterprises can take many forms across many industries, but they ultimately exist to serve the common good. The CSED is supported by Incompass Michigan and the Small Business Association of Michigan.
The new guide features nine social enterprises across Michigan offering gifts, experiences and services that create community impact with every purchase.
“Shopping with social enterprises means tackling societal issues, empowering marginalized communities, and promoting sustainable development across the entire state,” said Laurie Morse-Dell of Incompass Michigan.
“Social enterprises are a powerful catalyst for change in our communities and holiday shopping is an opportunity to align your dollars with your values, while supporting Michigan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem,” said Brian Calley, president and CEO of SBAM. “This guide makes it easy to support businesses that strengthen our communities.”
