Road commission for Oakland County announces additional funding for Bloomfield Village Green Phase Special Assessment District

Bloomfield Township is pleased to announce that the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has confirmed an additional $500,000 in funding towards the construction costs for the Bloomfield Village Green Phase Special Assessment District (SAD). This funding is in addition to the approximately $500,000 RCOC has already been confirmed towards the administrative and engineering costs.

Due to the urgent nature of this project, RCOC has allocated dedicated support funding specifically for the Bloomfield Village Green Phase SAD. This financial support is a one-time commitment and does not set a precedent for future SAD projects. RCOC notes that while they are working on a program to provide additional support for all other SADs, this is a unique project due to the time and critical nature.

A representative for RCOC stated, “The Bloomfield Village Green Phase SAD is considered unique in many aspects including size, costs, and completion of a subdivision. We have provided this support because of the time critical nature of this project.”

This funding was made available due to additional funds they expect to receive from the recent road funding package passed by the Michigan State Legislature.

Bloomfield Township remains committed to working closely with local stakeholders to ensure the success of this project and will continue to evaluate opportunities for future revenue streams.

Bloomfield Township Supervisor, Mike McCready, stated, “We are proud to strengthen our partnership with the Road Commission for Oakland County, as their continued support and additional funding are vital to the success of the Bloomfield Village road project. This collaboration ensures we can enhance safety, improve infrastructure, and foster growth within our community. Together, we’re building a better future for Bloomfield Township.”
