The Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) is conducting its 2026 Annual Convention in May.
The convention kicks off with the “Fast Track to Justice” seminar on Friday, May 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit, 1114 Washington Blvd. in Detroit. Co-moderators for the seminar are Emily Peacock, Olsman MacKenzie Peacock, and Bryan Waldman, Sinas Dramis Law Firm. After a day of practice pointers from top trial lawyers, attendees can enjoy craft cocktail party to catch up with colleagues.
Cost for the seminar is $590 for MAJ plaintiff members, $390 for MAJ plaintiff sustaining members, $450 for MAJ plaintiff members four years or less of practice, $400 for MAJ paralegal and student members, and free for current sitting judges.
The 81st Annual Banquet will then take place Saturday, May 9, from 5:30 to 11 p.m. at MGM Grand Detroit, 1777 3rd Ave. in Detroit. During the banquet, MAJ will welcome Barry Conybeare as it’s 74th president. MAJ?will also honor award winners:
• Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh—Judicial Excellence Award
• Ven Johnson—Champion of Justice Award
• Senator Mary Cavanagh—Legislator of the Year Award
Cost for the banquet is $300 for an individual ticket and $3,500 for a banquet table (includes 10 tickets). Sitting judges may attend for free. To purchase tickets, visit www.michiganjustice.org and click on “events.”
