The Michigan Judicial Institute present a “Contempt of Court: Authority, Limits, and Effective Use Webinar” on Wednesday, September 9, from noon to 1 p.m.

This webinar will provide judicial officers with a clear, practical framework for understanding and applying the court’s contempt powers. Faculty will review the legal foundations of direct and indirect contempt, civil and criminal contempt, and offer strategies for managing challenging behavior, including using contempt as a measured tool to maintain order and compliance while safeguarding litigants’ rights.
