‘Pathways to the Judiciary’ explored

The Oakland County Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan’s Commission on Fairness and Public Trust in the Judiciary will co-host “Pathways to the Judiciary” on Thursday, October 29, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Emagine Royal Oak, 200 North Main Street in Royal Oak. 

The program will feature a panel discussion about the pathway four Michigan judges took to the bench, obstacles they overcame, and advice they have for others. Speaking on the panel will be:

• Oakland County 46th District Court Chief Judge Sheila R. Johnson
• Oakland County Circuit Court Chief Judge Jeffery S. Matis
• Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Sima G. Patel, Second Division

Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Lorie N. Savin, Family Division

There will be time to mingle afterwards with the judges and guests at a social hour hosted by the Michigan State Bar Foundation. A cash bar will be available.
