On Wednesday, September 23, the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association, Wolverine Bar Association, the Association of Black Judges of Michigan (ABJM), Black Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (BWLAM), and the Vanzetti M. Hamilton Bar Association hosted the “Affinity Bar Membership Round-Up” at Duo in Southfield. During the evening, the associations honored past presidents, congratulated February bar passers, welcomed all 1Ls, and recognized judges. Happy to welcome members to the gathering were (left to right) Wolverine Bar President Alexis Smith-Scott, BWLAM President Dorothy Dean of Law Offices of Dorothy J. Dean, Straker President Elect Lanita Carter of Collins Einhorn Farrell PC, Straker President Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Kameshia Gant, and ABJM President Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Nicole Goodson.
