Keynote commentators
“Oligarchy and the Rule of Law: Examining the Intersection of Power, Wealth, and Justice” was the title of the annual Wayne Law Review Symposium on September 25. The full-day event brought together leading scholars, legal practitioners, policy experts, and journalists from around the country to explore how concentrated economic and political power shapes democratic institutions, fundamental rights, and the rule of law. The keynote luncheon conversation featured Katie Phang (left), host of the Katie Phang Channel and a political commentator, and Northwestern University Professor Jeffrey Winters, author of “Blind Spot: How Oligarchs Dominate Our Democracy.”
